Did you ever have a situation, when at first you watch a movie and then you read a book? Sometimes it happens to everyone in my opinion. You see the trailer of a new movie based on the book, even so you didn't read it yet. You are just curious and you think " okay first I will watch a movie so I will know what is this book about..." But going that way can steal you from full story line contained in a book. I know that watching a movie is the easiest way but I think you are gonna regret it and you will be dissapointed. Reading a book at first is so much more valuable that staying only with a movie. Don't get me wrong. I am not saying now: "DON'T YOU DARE WATCH A MOVIE!" The thing is that you're gonna loose so much on the way. Book can take you so much further that the view of a movie director. Especially that they have to cut off a lot of threads from a book, so movie won't last too long. Author describes in a book extensively all places, characters, thoughts, time and so on; however in the cinema you will see maybe not even 50% of all plot line.

In the movie everything is contained overall.

Book can work on your imagination so much more than a movie. While reading a book everything is up to your vision. You can imagine the characters looks, places, actions, behaviors and you can actually feel the joy, pain, happiness and feelings while characters are dealing with a situation. Reading opens in front of you the gates to wonderful, amazing, big and specific world. It also allows you to look beyond. Watching a movie is actually seeing someone else's point of view. That is why I think it's better to read a book first. After you read a book you have your own outlined view and then you can compare it to someone else's view by watching a movie. So why watching someone else's shortened version, when you can have your own beautiful world without any limits. I made this mistake a few times too. That's why my rule number one sound: "NEVER WATCH A MOVIE, IF YOU DIDN'T READ A BOOK FIRST". I am reading a book, drowning in it's amazing, specific world and creating my own vision and after that I am watching a movie. Sometimes I'd rather not to watch a movie at all, because it can ruin my own view, which is without any limits and I don't wanna be dissapointed with reduced version of a great story.
