As you already know, I am a big fan of old, classic literature. For some of you, Stephen King may seem as a modern writer, but the novel "Salem's Lot" was published in 1975. That is why King for me is categorized as an old writer somehow.

I've read this novel sometime ago. It was pretty hard to go through for me, to be honest.

The story line contains main character Ben Mears, who is coming back to his hometown after 25 years. He returned to the town to write a book about the abandoned Marsten House, where he had a terrifying experience as a child. Within a couple of days many of the people are turned into vampires. Ben Mears with a few town-members starts the fight with unimaginable evil grows out of hand- the paranormal power of vampires.

Stephen King himself said that "Salem's Lot" is one of his favorite artworks. No surprise. When you read that novel you can experience really horrifying adventure. It works very hard for the imagination. While I was reading this book, it scared me as hell. I wasn't able to read it, when nobody was home, when I was home alone. I've been looking uneasily at the window, trying to see, if any vampire is out there staring at me. For real. It gave me veritable goosebumps. This novel takes you to the world full of unimaginable evil, unexpected events and scary feelings.

I wouldn't recommend to read it when the light goes down!

As agreed on Stephen King writing style, there are a lot of things, which will surprise you.

I am sure you will turn another page with a shaking hand. The world of "Salem's Lot" is similar to the situation, in which you are standing in front of a closed door and you are really scared to open them. You have no idea what is behind them. If there is something or someone, waiting for you, ready to murder you.

King builds a pressure with every page you read. Experience is similar to watching very good and scary horror movie, when you are home alone and you are so scared that you can't even move.

You can feel on your skin, that demons are ready to get you. Terrifying terror. This is the one of the books, I am scared to read again...
