I heard about this movie: "Green Mile" from everyone, I think.

When they asked me about my opinion, I just replied: " I don't know. I've never seen it".

People called me crazy, because they said, it is a legend movie. Okay. Fine by me, but first thing first, I needed to read a book.

I wanted to read this story, so I could create my own world of the "Green Mile".

So, let's talk about it.

As many of you know, Stephen King is one of my favorite writers, one of the literary masters for me. I got at home two copies of "The Green Mile". Before reading it, I only saw a movie trailer. I knew, it will be a great story and I was right.

Stephen King takes us to the inside world of death row, in The Cold Mountain Penitentiary named " The Green Mile". At the beginning the author introduces us to one of the main characters- Paul Edgecombe, who is a prison guard on the Mile. During his years of working on a Death Row, he met a lot of prisoners, but never someone like John Coffey- a huge, black men, with a giant body and a childish mind, convicted for raping and murdering two young white girls. Meeting this prisoner for Paul is an experience, he will never forget.

Of course besides John Coffey, there are other prisoners sentenced to death, by electrocution with a help of the "Old Sparky". This is how they were calling the electric chair on the Green Mile, as the inside joke, not so funny for me, but oh well.

So, about the rest of the prisoners, we have: William Wharton, who's nickname was "Wild Bill"-angry, horribly brutal sociopath teenager. Also Arlen Bitterbuck, Arthur Flanders and finally, Eduard "Dell" Delacroix with his little, furry friend- a mouse called "Mr. Jingles".

I think for this last one prisoner, I felt sorry the most. I don't know why, but he touched me with his character and with his love to a little mouse. It was really hard to believe, that he was

a rapist and a murderer.

Of course, I have to mention about Percy Wetmore- a young, very sadistic, spoiled guard, who was irritating not only other guards, but prisoners as well. He was irritating me also with his behavior, because he was thinking that, if he is a nephew of the Governor's wife- he can do everything he wants and nobody will kick him out of the Green Mile. This character I hated the most and I was so angry, because of what he did during the Delacroix's electrocution.

It showed the lack of human qualities!

However, the best moment for me in the book is, when Paul Edgecombe finds out about the paranormal abilities of healing, which John Coffey has!

I am not gonna tell you about all circumstances of course, but I really loved this motive, because it shows and reminds us, that even in the darkest places, there is still magic in this world.

A lot of things made me angry in this plot, but the same time- so many things touched my heart. Retrospection of Paul Edgecombe after years as the old grandpa, thinking about everything happened at the "Green Mile" really moved me and made me cry.

Reflections about life, death, struggling with our feelings, experiences and this one very touching statement, that "everybody walks their own Green Mile"...

This book will make you angry, pissed and the same time, it will make you reflect on your life, on struggling and sometimes during being in the world of this Death Row, you will smile, because it reminds us, there is still a magic and miracles in this dark world.

Thank You Mr. King for all of parts and emotions during this deep and emotional journey.
